Bernstein Collaboration for Computational Neuroscience (BCOL)

Nervous systems gather relevant information about the outside world by interpreting spike trains. The information content of these spike trains is determined by the sampling and coding characteristics of sensory cells. By linking complementary approaches to dissect these cellular characteristics in vivo, this proposed Bernstein collaboration aims at fostering the understanding of how sensory cells process and code information and of how this processing can be non-invasively assessed.
