Bernstein Award for Computational Neuroscience (BPCN)

In 2006, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)  started to confer the "Bernstein Award for Computational Neuroscience" to excellent junior scientists. The award was announced internationally. It comprised up to 1.25 Mio Euro over a periof of five years.

The prize money enabled the brain researchers to establish their own research group at a German research institution, expand their research profile and develop their scientific independence. The projects supported by the Bernstein Prize have become an integral part of the Bernstein Network.
